The Ski Zone / snow noob enquiry

Hey guys, I'm planning a much waited trip back to the snow PB during august 31st to 14 sept 2009 for bout a week and had a few queries:

Know of any good places to check for prices for next year especially full packaged trips??
Whats the name of the place in PB right on the snow near the quad lift would love to stay there?
Im up in townsville am i better off flying to canberra and busing it or is there something cheaper??
Also whats a good group size to go with (if taking friends) to make accom cheaper etc..??

I went last in 02 stayed at Sk rider great little place not a bad ride in to the fields but would be awesome to stay closer. If you guys have any info on where i should start looking or know of any groups that need people to fill spots usually (last time went with a school .... Killer bus ride but cheaper lol) it would much be appreciated.

travelling in different country is the aspiration of everyone. site-seeing and discover the wonder of the world is very exciting experience that everyone dreaming of.

I just got my stickboard which cost me around 120$. It does not satisfy me because it does not allow me to have as much control or do as many tricks as a real snowboard.

Hi. I'm interested in teaming up with a few Melbourne people for a one week trip out to New Zealand (south island) in August/September 06. will be keeping it pretty budget but hope to see at least a couple different mountains out there.

If anyone's planning a trip, or interested in one, get in touch.

Was previously thinking Perisha but a one week trip to NZ is much more economical than just interstate, and the season is looking excellent out there

Hi all, im new here after skimming around searching for a decent aussie snow site with forum.
Im located in Churchill, Vic (bout 45 from Mnt St Gwinear and 1 hr from Baw Baw) Its been powdering since April fools and i am SO EXCITED that its been difficult to actually go to work when all i wanna do is chain up n go!
Im finding it a bit of a letdown that the snow reports dont open until the official open season date despite the snow   but I have a heap of new gear to buy before i head up, so theres not much I can do until then anyway.
And who knows, it may just snow here again here this year. well.. heres to hoping hey!
Anyone have any theories on our mental weather these days? last season ran late with a georgeous drop and this season its early! what gives?
Also, im looking for some xc gear. boots n ski's for 5"7 female, size 7 1/2 boot size and weight bout 60kg's.
